SteelSeries Sensei - Page 33

Can't wait for your review! Please also make sure to test it on various surfaces(like cloth, plastic, maybe even glass or metal), if possible ofcourse.

The Audio Technica AD900s have a magnesium frame. Light and durable, though I'm not convinced it would make for a good mouse gripping material.

Kim Rom on the SteelSeries Ikari

http://hardware.gotfrag.com/portal/story/40464/?spage=4

"A gaming peripheral to me is defined by the fact that it gives the user an advantage, gives them a faster reaction time between human and computer, makes them able to perform better in game – it’s not defined by the fact that it glows blue. I completely sympathize with the fact that we are gamers and we want to express that at least on some level, but we do that through our actions not by the fact that we have glowing blue lights in our rooms. I doubt you will ever see a peripheral from SteelSeries that glows blue."

Never say never dude. Not only one of your peripherals glows blue, but it glows and i quote "16.8 million different colors" smile.gif Add in the flawed A9500 sensor and you have a big fail performance wise. I really hope your Kana turns out better than this because you're heading for disaster (learn from Razer mistakes atleast). That's the reason i still use a Logitech G1 chinese version.

I do not know any mouse with a Magnesium cover. But when Sony was able to build a Magnesium covered Discman in 2000 Steelseries should be able to build a Magnesium covered mouse in 2011. biggrin.gif

I think it would definitively be possible. devil-smiley-019.gif

Haven't posted on a forum in years, but this is such an enthralling discussion that I just had to jump in and say hi :-)

My wife and I are avid gamers, albeit Mac users (flames to /dev/null please, Mac dev is what I do for a living :-P). We play mostly older tech games: Quake III has been my obsession since it was born, fragging for a good innings then retiring from blood sports to hone trick jumping skills with the Defrag mod. I've been looking for a decent mouse for months, having previously given away my MX510 (which I miss) and Diamondback (which I never want to see again) when I "gave up" gaming a few years ago, and the hardware landscape has changed considerably in that time.

The Kana seems very interesting. Defrag is quite demanding, requiring a relentlessly diverse range of movement and speeds in any given run, with which any acceleration plays absolute havoc, and the reports of acceleration with the Xai/Sensei sensor have put me off somewhat as it's not something I could ever get used to.

Very much looking forward to the reports of the Kana testing with whomever is chosen to test it.. Until then, I'm weighing up the g9x or perhaps the mx518. Currently stuck with my Magic Mouse, which is fast becoming inadequate (understatement) as I find myself being sucked back in ;-)

Anyway. Hi ;-)

The G9x has the same sensor as the xai/sensei.
