Thanks!

That's strange. Did you change the lift off distance setting? If so, try raising it to see if it starts tracking on the other surfaces. If that doesn't work then the mouse could very well be defective and ready for an RMA.

Well, I got me one of these mice about two weeks ago just because I know nothing about good mice vs bad ones but always wanted a "better" mouse than the standard Genius ones I normally use.

I have had one or two issues with the software and updating etc. Nothing majors that didn't rectify itself quickly. My two main concerns with the mouse is the way after a little bit of use the grease from sweat starts to stick to it (I don't think I sweat more than average and I do keep myself and my surroundings clean). The second one has to do with how to grip / hold the mouse without pressing the buttons on the right hand side by accident (using it right-handed) because the way I am doing it at the moment my hand gets very tired very quickly.

As I don't have any experience with other mice in this class I can't really compare it, but for the price I paid I will enjoy it dammit! (Even if I am in pain).

Might wanna just return it and get the new Sensei Raw which has a rubberized top. Also, if you have smaller hands like I do then you might like Kana or Kinzu more than the Sensei.

1. Go to device manager and look for the HID mouse compliant driver that cause the problem, uninstall it. (sensei's driver recognized by computer)
2. Then reopen the repair tool it should be working biggrin.gif
Have funn!!!

I tried the SteelSeries Fix spam, even completed it a few times with it ending up 'dead' again.

Then I tried your method, and it instantly worked after I uninstalled/deleted the driver that caused the problem and strangely enough, I accidentally removed my SteelSeries 6vG2 from the list by accident, and only replugged that USB, didn't even touch my Sensei yet it also worked miraculously.

Thank you so much (even registered just to thank you)!

I tried this. When I went to update the firmware, instead of all the lights turning off, the display saying "Upgrading... V1.13" and the mouse being unusable, the lights stayed on, the display showed the default steelseries logo and the update "completed". By the fact it did that I got the feeling it hadn't updated anything at all. So since then, I've reinstalled Steelseries Engine, and tried updating the mouse again like normal, and low and behold, lights go off, says "Upgrading... V1.13" and the mouse is unusable. So I get the feeling deleting that HID mouse compliant driver didn't do the trick for me.

Strange, I had the same upgrade issue a few times, normally plugging it out and back in worked like a charm.

Run Updater, restart computer after it fails, run it again, works fine. Install software afterwards.

Click on this picture, and it will basically describe everything mentioned above.
I had to make an account to confirm this, and for those who think it's a troll, it is NOT.

Don't hesitate, be calm, don't break your mouse, it will WORK.
- Cheers!

First I want to say hi to all of you that are using Sensei mouse. I have just bought it about 3 weeks ago which was an upgrade from Steelseries XAI.

When updating the firmware fails, I just replug the mouse and use it normal until today I found out it sometimes have signal loss or lag. The mouse doesn't even move at all,or it moves like car going on the road with brake on 4 wheels. Really annoying.

The blue light blinking and the problem when updating firmware have been with the mouse since the day I bought it and never thought I can find a way to fix it,not until I find this topic and this post thumb.gif

So by doing the same as above quote I've managed to update the firmware successfully. But after it completes the mouse shutdown all light and sensor except the backlight of the LCD. I re-plug my Sensei and it start working again. So is this normal?

There are people saying that XAI and Sensei clicking mouse left/right are the same, I can tell you that they aren't. Or at least not in my situation. XAI mouse left/right/middle sound louder, need more force to press. I've tested another XAI and Sensei and still the same.

To most of you it isn't a big deal at all, but to some hard-core users on gaming such as CS 1.6 and other FPS game, the force really make difference in gaming.

/Sorry my English isn't that good.

Just got this mouse a few days ago and I have been using it for CS:S and CS:GO. I've played maybe 10 hours or so with it and I've been having lag/sensor issues...

It has cost me a lot of games (locking up right when I see someone) and I'm thinking of returning this and going back to my G500. Does anyone else have this problem and know a fix? Or am I just doomed if I keep this mouse?
