I had the same thing happen but with my 360.

I used to game all the time on my Xbox, tons of MW1/2, Gears, Fallout, etc. And then I just bored. I started building my Steam library, and just last Sunday I finally built myself a proper gaming computer.

And now I'm not sure I can go back to gaming on consoles. I'll still play some games that are exclusive (Dark Souls!), but I can't see myself ever buying a multiplatform game for anything but PC.

It's all new to me (since my old PC sucked), so I'm just getting into overclocking, and how to do it properly. I'm getting all sorts of additional peripherals (2nd monitor, new keyboard, potentially new headphones), and it's great since it's not just used for gaming, but just about everything else. I think I'm addicted.

yeahh I've enjoyed playing FONV and such, I just feel a little underwhelmed, I think I'm gonna have to really get a game thats truly epic. I dont think I play enough to fully adjust to WASD, I'm in the terrible void where i cant play cod etc due to the sticks being to linear and slow, but not quite cracked PC gaming.

I need to get a good PC racing game, I still have my XBOX and PS3 though, for games like guitar hero, and forza etc..

also my PX6800 LE is just for the S-video to run telly it serves no other purpose, and i only BSOD during really intense parts of FONV and once in BFBC2.

I have ince ammended it, but sometimes games are crashy, like its windows' fault, I think I should re-install my windows, as half of it is linux anyway, so i'm short on space. probs do that tonight tbh.

I also think I'm at that point in life where I get sidetracked easily. I left college last december and have just mooched since then, so maybe going back to college in september will make me savour the time, Like i went to work for a bit and gamed like mad, perhaps I just need something to fill the major proportion of my time, maybe I feel de-motivated because i dont want gaming to consume my time sole-ly.

^ this. Everyone has a preference and it's possible that your preference is consoles. No one says you HAVE to enjoy PC gaming more. Don't give up on PC gaming yet though; there are numerous things you can do to try and improve your experience.

The beautiful thing about PC gaming is that its an enthusiastic hobby. Its not just about the game. Its about how well you can run it too. The GPU, the CPU, the OC.....everything lol. I mean, look at NVidia surround and 3D...thats multi monitors right there...something that cant be done with consoles. Its fine to prefer PS3 (i still love mine) or XBox 360 as long as its what you like. Like you say, you buy a game for a console and it just works, whereas on PC its a bit more than that. Everyone prefers different platforms. IMO its a bit like Console vs PC is the same as Air Cooling vs Water Cooling. If you want the best, always go for the latter....although more problems MAY occur

Is there any chance I could share your dream :3 .

And I have to agree with the OP, PC gaming is brilliant.. But it loses its spark quickly (for me). I can sometimes sit on TF2 for 5/6 hours and not realise it.. and then theres other times I'll sit for 5 minutes, get bored, and close the game to stare intensively at nothingness and watch time go by : /

Whereas, If I boot up my PS3, I'm guarenteed to be on there for a few hours before realising sleep is actually benificial.. O.o

I've been pc gaming since 2007 after I graduated high school. Never touched an xbox, never touched a ps3. The only consoles I ever owned was a n64. Out of the 4 years of PC gaming I have under my belt right now, a good 2 years of that was strictly getting used to it. There is an extreme amount of competitiveness in pc gaming. There are many very good players and it is very frustrating at times, its just the nature of it, especially with fps games. I think if you wait it out, and get to enjoy it, and of course try not to get so frustrated, it will become far better than a console experience.

Pc gaming takes time.

Get yourself some better peripherals, that will help with adjusting to keyboard/mouse. You could use one of your console controllers too, but that will put you at a disadvantage in FPS compared to somebody playing with a keyboard/mouse. I use my ps3 controller for more traditional console type games, like nba 2k11, dirt 2 &3, darksiders, just cause 2, etc.

For a good racing game, dirt 3 is pretty stellar if you like rally type games. Burnout Paradise is a lot of fun too, although I've owned it on 360, ps3, and PC, so maybe I'm just a Criteron fanboy.

I use to game on the PC all the time as well, but recently have been doing console gaming. One of the main reasons is the achievements on the xbox. It makes the game feel much more rewarding. I also was running on an older PC so the options weren't as great, but I have fixed that now with my new rig.

I'm pretty sure a 9600gt would bottleneck still, I'd pair a gtx260 with a gtx460, but physx cards are such a waste, I'd just add another gtx460 for SLI.
