GFWL has achievements too, and you can login with your same gamertag as the xbox

I'm sure you knew that though.

i love MW2 so obviously got BLOPS, mainly for MP. But playing MP on pc isnt as fun... I find it aggravating, and I loose my temper. I bought other games, and I noticed another problem. you could buy a game at Game or something, and its guaranteed to work on your console..

But on a PC game, your always pooping your pants that it doesnt BSOD or crash on you. I find it quite nerve racking, what can I do to rekindle my love for gaming?
Im not sure ive ever defacated my longjohns over whether or not a game will BSOD, it has jsut as much a chance to BSOD as an xbox does to RROD or a PS3 does to YLOD. If it BSOD's thats usually your fault anyway for overclocking. Plus on a computer you can mod, get better graphics, free DLC sometimes, and you have access to everything, unlike consoles where if there is a problem you have to send it out for weeks and have someone else fix it for hundreds. Ive never had a problem on my computer that wasnt fixed within a day or so (excluding that RAID incident :shudder: ) PC's > consoles in a lot of ways including compatibility.

I have never pooped my pants playing a PC game. I made the jump from console to PC when I dumped the Atari 2600 for a Commodore VIC 20 and have never looked back. But then again, I like strategy games that play better with a keyboard, for those who only play shooters there is probably no real reason to ever leave the console arena.

Actually a mouse and keyboard allows much faster rotation and, in my opinion, greater control for shooters as well.
The only genres I can think of where I'd prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard are driving games (steering wheel>all) and beat-em-ups.

OP, drop the OC on your i5, 4.0 still won't bottleneck in games and it should be much easier to get it rock solid stable at 4 than at 4.4.

There's a cheaper one for about $170.

It's not as fancy, but it's an option.

I've got it rock solid now, but a new problem with nVidia Drivers causing judders. Which is another problem, nVidia and AMD always farting about with "this-that and the other" I read constant complaints about things not being quite right.

I don't have the money to drop £100 on a steering wheel. I barely have enough for a possible Mobo upgrade. Which I NEED because my Mobo lacks SLI support!

I might go for a new Keyboard though.

EVGA b-stock has some p55 sli mobo's in stock for $90. Not sure if that helps you being in the UK.

2) Your 6800gt next to your GTX 460 is probably the problem. The 6800gt is not really physx material, nor is it really next generation ready. Its designed to sit next to a phenom I or p4, not an i5 I think the lowest one that really would not be the bottleneck in your system would be a 9600gt, a 8800gtx would be better. Regardless, the 460 is so cheap right now you could really just get a second one, and SLI.

3)PC gaming is not the same, the feel of the WASD and mouse are very different from a control pad, but you can always get a x360 controller for your pc if you prefer that thumb control. The visuals are different, hopefully for the better, but if you are used to gaming on a large screen HDTV and suddenly are playing on a 21" monitor, that could be rather annoying.

To rekindle you PC gaming love, try playing some games that where designed for PC, rather than games that you used to play on the ps3 or X360. Look at it as a different experience. You play bops on the 360, play Crysis 2 or bf2bc on the PC. PC really shines in large openworld games, so grab a rpg or something of the such, but stay away from DNF(duke nukem forever = Did Not Finish)
Yeah I wouldn't be trying to push my i5 760 to 4.4ghz (4.2 is usually tops) and you really want something like a gtx 260 for ideal physx.
