Is this a great deal?

Corsair HX 650 + ASUS P8P67 = $219.38 - $20 Mail-in Rebate.

Pretty good, I'd say. The motherboard sounds just a tad bit flaky, but the price is decent.

What do you mean? It's a top selling Asus board?

Just saying I'd rather have a motherboard without several DOA reviews. But... chances are it would work perfectly for you, hence my overall "pretty good" assessment.

Also, Shub, that Antec HCGP isn't modular, if that's a concern for the OP. Obviously your general point is valid, though.

Yeah, the HCG-620 isn't modular unfortunately.
The HX650 is downright overpriced for what it is, even the modularity doesn't warrant the premium you pay for it. One can get the SeaSonic X 650 for only an extra $20, whereas the gap should be more like $40-50 considering the HX650 is old and nothing special. Sadly there is a hole in the market of adequately priced modular 650W units these days.

Seems like those are in every motherboard review though. That or some sort of BIOS problem. It looks like there isn't a perfect motherboard in the $100 price range unfortunately.

I was also looking at the $129 BIOSTAR TP67XE (B3)

Yeah, I know. Sounds like the people who got working boards were happy, though. In any case, good luck with the new build.
