BSOD - Hard drive related?

Thread Starter
I have a computer right now that just randomly gave the BSOD. When you go to turn it on it asks if you want to start windows normally or start in repair mode. If you start normally you get a BSOD. If you start in repair mode it will load up to the background but gives no icons, no mouse, nothing. Nothing works you just get a teal background screen. In both cases when it is at the loading bar portion of startup is seems to take a lot longer than it should.

I got these numbers on the BSOD.

0x00000024, 0x0000000000190444, 0xfffffa8004aab810 (or this in its place 0xfffffa80049aa0c0), 0xffffffffc0000102, 0x0000000000000000

I think it might have something to do with the hard drive but please help point me in the right direction so I can fix it! Thanks!

Do a clean install of your OS on it.
If you're still having reading errors, it's most likely the HDD.

Boot SafeMode with command prompt. Then run chkdsk on your drive. You can also do this from a bootable Windows DVD.

chkdsk /? tells you the commands.

It's chkdsk /f C: to check the filesystem, then chkdsk /r C: to check the disk surface, if I remember right.
