Is it a good idea to update the bios with this MSI software?

This is my Bro's AMD build for Bulldozer as Live update says a new BIOS version is available..

Motherboard :
MSI 990FXA-GD80

CPU:
AMD Phenom2 X6(for the time being)

RAM:
Cosrair XMS3 2GB DDR3(one old system)

Thanx smile.gif

I usually use the updater function in the BIOS itself, but either way should work fine.

I use GIGABYTE @BIOS which is the equivalent.

Some guys will tell you to not use this way to flash the BIOS but it always worked fine for me and if the manufacturer releases the software it might be safe. smile.gif

Doesn't hurt but I prefer the old way flashing the BIOS through DOS.
