280.26 errors I've noticed so far. - Page 2

That's a hardware issue in most cases, either not enough voltage, too high overclock, or a faulty card.
Same thing happens to me, 280.26 crashes even at stock clock stock volts. Tried making it stock clocks and 1.1V it still crashes. Definitely drivers problem.

On 266.58, everything works fine, overclocked 900 core 1.1v

This is frustrating, when i enables SLi in Nvidia Control Panel and then try to run a game in full-screen mode, the screen is dominated by blue colors and blue vertical lines going all over the place. Though, when i disable SLi, everything is fine again. This is just happening with 280.26 drivers, so there is no problem with my GPU smile.gif

Nvidia has problems with creating a propper driver, black straps, black screens, driver fail and all kind of stuff,I don't know why they mess up the drivers but I will not update the drivers till "300" versions, versions above 270 are crap, had many problems with them since then I use under 270 drivers.
Nvidia is well known for theyr "fail" for drivers. But still they are the best in the world.
Cheers!

These drivers are horribly unstable for myself also. A lot of the time I cannot get into Windows without a total hard lock and stopping of sound. If I do, any DX10 game will immediately freeze the system and need a restart. 8800GTS 320MB at stock clocks.

Works perfectly on any before it. 275.33 is what I use now. BIOS modded to increase fan speed so that doesn't bother me.

I think these are the only NV drivers that have actually ever been unstable for me, well these and 192.somethings.

Yeah the new drivers suck totally. My PC crashes all the time when using 280.26.
Back to 266.58 . This is the best stable and best driver for OC that i've used so far smile.gif

I have 280.26 on my GTX570 and GTX460SE rigs and haven't had issues with either of them. Sounds like some people may have unstable overclocks or corrupted Windows.

I'm having many of the same problems. I've upped my voltage and I'll see how that works, but where do I go to get the older drivers? I'd love to give these drivers a try that people keep raving about.

I haven't had any issues with the new drivers, and I'm running SLI.

Considering each new set of drivers help squeeze a little extra performance out of your cards, it's possible they're just exposing some previously hidden instability in your OC.
