280.26 errors I've noticed so far. - Page 5

The 280.26 driver is the most astonishingly **** driver I have used in years. This driver brings me back to a decade ago when a daily bluescreen was merely expected.

This driver crashes when I browse the internet using Firefox. No joke, when I browse using Firefox. Nothing is going on graphically. It'll crash, recover and then do it again a few minutes later.

It'll also crash the second I start Team Fortress 2, recover (but not before disabling AA and making my game look like ****) then crash again, finally freezing the game beyond recovery.

I think perhaps Nvidia deserves to be congratulated on creating something so beyond the pale worthless.
That's not the driver's problem. It sounds like you just have a faulty card.

You can try upping the voltage to help stabilize it, but barring that you'll probably need an RMA.

nVidia have even admitted the driver is broken directly to me, so I wouldn't be quick to judge on this one.

I get TDR errors occasionally as well using 280.26, both on this computer and my other one.

I'm going to try rolling back to 275.33 and see if that fixes things.

Edit: new beta drivers say this is fixed: "GeForce 500 series: GPU power levels appear to fluctuate unnecessarily while navigating the Firefox browser. [857542]"

Sounds exactly like the problem I'm having.

Welp, you were right, I was wrong. I got 2 TDRs just last night while watching youtube vids in Firefox. No artifacts or crashes in games, thankfully.

I guess it's a conflict with hardware acceleration in flash?

My theory is that Nvidia has done this for ****s & giggles with 270+ drivers and is checking forums to see how many people still say their drivers are infallible.

In the last 2 days Firefox has crashed 3 times with the "display driver has crashed and has now recovered" message. I just updated to 280.26 the day before these crashes started. I'm rolling back to 275.33 now. Has anyone tried the new beta 285.27drivers? If so do they have the same crash issues as the 280.26?

I am havign some problems with 285.27 The drive has froze my PC once since last night & I did get one driver stopped error. This is even with a fresh format. I am not sure which driver I am going to roll back to tho.

I never had any issues with the 275.33 drivers and haven't had any issues since going back to them. Maybe give those a try.
