the only thing is its not easy for snipers, sure the weapoins are more powerful than normal, but what should be in the game is a rangefinder or the like so that people actually trying to act realistic can hit what they are aiming at without estimating. There are lots of bad snipers but few good ones, the good ones want something like this, the bad ones just want to camp all day

Speaking of which, do we have solid news of what the modes are going to be in BF3?

I thought the sniping in BC2 was pretty good. Headshots USUALLY register well and the bullet drop and time travel make for a very fun sniper stand off. It feels good to master the art of killing someone half way across the map, predicting their movements and knowing just how far ahead of them you have to shoot and how far the bullet will drop.

to quote Anthony Swofford:
"The grunt dies for fifteen thousand poorly placed rounds. The sniper dies for that one. Perfect. Shot.

I agree, body shots should do more damage, depending where they are. But, they would make it easier, so they need to make actually hitting someone from a distance harder.

Rangefinder and something to detect windspeed so you would have to aim a bit in front of them, and know how much to aim above them for a headshot. And like above, not being able to shoot accurately while standing, or maybe even get blown back more while standing or crouching.

You want one shot kills? Go play hardcore and sit around all game while people camp in corners and wait to snipe people. Want a game that requires more thought, play normal mode.

If they want to avoid 1 shot kills, let's just stick to semi auto MK11's and PSL's or Dragunov. Imo, the amount it took to kill in normal mode was perfect. Death from a .223 at 100 yards with 1 shot... not so much if that were to happen in HC.

And no bashing cs... that game will always be the best.

Realistic? Not respawning after you die is realistic.
Having to shoot someone multiple times with a .50 sniper is just dumb.

They'll probably just dump the .50 and stick to guns that shoot .308 or .300WM or .338 LM or 7.62x39 or even the 7.62.54R

If you incorporate other forms of realistic disadvantages to supplement the realistic advantage of being able to kill in one shot. Everything is fine, that's why you don't see soldiers going around with 50 Cal Rifles.
That's why I wish we had more realistic physics in a game - if we did, all the LMG's would be weapons that people would hate to have to run and gun with.

I think you misunderstood him; he said he's not a fan of those excuses people make.
