Can i use 3dTV to Play my 3d Videos??!

Hi every one,
I am really confused somehow and i need your help, please.

I am planning to buy new (3D 55-60" LED or Plasma), my main target for this TV is:

- Watching 3d Full HD videos.
- Regular cable signal.

I want to watch those 3d videos, through my PC (Nvidia 3d vision Ready), so my main video source is Win7 PC.

So if i buy like (LG LW5700, LW6510) or any other brand with 3d ready, can i connect it to my PC and play my 3d videos directly from it?

I noticed that the LG above models is using Passive glasses not Active, so this will be possible?

I am really confused, since i notice that Nvidia (click here) mentioned some HDTV to work with there 3d play software.. So should i choose the 3d tv from there list or any other one with 3d ready will work with my PC..??

Please help me to understand, i really cant figure it out,, can i use any 3d tv to play my 3d video from my PC (nvidia 3d vision ready), or not possible? Please explain..

Thank you very much

Hi,
Yes you'll be fine.
Nvidia stating that there software does'nt work with some 3dtv's is bullcrap at it's best.
You can use 3dvision or 3dtvplay for 3d on 3dtv's,
With 3dvision you use a modified inf and a emu, this gives you checkerboard at 60hz/60fps wink.gif as long as the 3dtv supports checkerboard.
3dtvplay can allso be used on non supported tv's by way of a modified edid.

I'm a 3d gamer and know what i say tobe true, i have the lg 47ld950 passive set wink.gif.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. A 3DTV is made to display 3D content..

Plasma tv's can get burn in/retention, seeing what i've seen on a samsung 3d plasma i'd have to say go lcd, the xtalk issues are virtually non existent with the passives so plasma won't make the 3d any better, that's more for active shutter glasses.
You'll need something like tmt5 or powerdvd11 to play 3d blurays from pc, or you can play sbs mkv files.
If you need any help in the future with your 3dtv then you know where i am wink.gif
3dtv's rock the pants off my bum!

Oky you really make it easy to me.. So what i understand now is: (Please correct me)

1- LED, LCD are better from PLASMA for 3d (PASSIVE) experiences. Right?
2- If i buy for example LG (LW6510), or any other LED, LCD passive 3dTV (not mentioned in Nvidia 3dtv list, i can normally connect it to my PC to play 3d content? Right?
3- To play the 3d content from my pc to the 3dTV i need a powerDVD 11, Tmt5 (I have them both)?
4- Which brand do you advice me to go with (from you excellent experience)? i already have old 46" FullHD SAMSUNG, and i really like the sound of change the brand to (LG, PANASONIC, SONY...) or any other one you advice..

Finally.. (All what i want is, the best 3dTV experience for (Me and my family, 4 person total), and to use all my 2TB 3d content and more.. with it through my PC).

Thank you

1, Lcd are better than plasma, no image retention or any of them nasty issues plasmas have..

2, yes you can play 3dtvplay ect from nvidia as if the tv is'nt supported you use a edid overide driver for the 3dtv which makes the 3dtv compatible, this works with all 3dtv's.

3, For 3d blurays you will need those softwares, for sbs content you only need a media player that will play mkv files.

4, I'd have to say passive is better than active, i've seen 3 samsung 3dtv's and all had crosstalk, i sold my samsung 3d c750 and got a lg passive and i was shocked by how crappy my life had been with the samsung, 3d on passive really does knock the socks of the other types of 3dtv. Lg are great, i have 1, but anything that is passive will do.
You may read or listen to people that say that pasive is'nt full had due the nature of how it works but being honest it makes no difference, there is alittle loss in image quality but it's not a problem as it still looks better in 3d than the sammys and 3d is what we want these tv's for, nothing worse than crosstalk!
Plus passive glasses only cost a few pounds, dollars and most passive come with 2+ sets, i had 4 with mine.

This is what we call, completed and full answer.. Thank you.
It seems that i should go with 3d LED,LCD rather than 3d plasma with Passive tech not active..

In the same time i understand now that any 3d ready TV could work with my pc and play my 3d movies without any problems, not as what nvidia list in there website.
