(MSI R6870 HAWK) or (Zotac GeForce GTX 470 Amp)? - Page 3

A GTX 470 stock keeps up or is slightly faster then a 5870 and over clocked is quite a bit faster.

Have a look at this
This is still irrelevant because he is interested in the comparison between the GTX470 and the MSI 6870 Hawk. The 6870 Hawk is a non-reference design that can OC much further than a reference 6870 which means it will perform much faster.

An OC'ed GTX470 can match the performance of the stock speed of the GTX480 {the performance charts proves this...just Google}. As for the MSI 6870 Hawk, it can be OC'ed to almost match the stock speed of the GTX480 {see the chart below or just Google for yourself}

Understanding that drivers for Nvidia & AMD often improve the performance with certain games, these 2 GPUs are almost equal in performance. This is only 1 chart for 1 particular game. You can take time to verify this performance difference by using Google for other site reviews.

As you see in this chart, the GTX470 is relatively 7% faster than the 6870 Hawk {both GPUs are not OC'ed}. As you increase resolution, the performance gap decreases. Base on the chart below, the slight lead over the 6870 Hawk is not noticeable when playing the games. At 1920 x 1200, they are just about equal {depending on the game being played}. See below

No the 470 barely beats the MSI 6870 Hawk or Sapphire 6870 Toxic {just Google to research}

Just about equal performance depending on the game being played and resolution being used. Some cases the GTX570 will win & lose against the 6950.

BTW...If you notice under my avatar, you will clearly see that I prefer Nvidia. So there's no fanboism being presented here for AMD. I'm just keeping it real son.

You hear that guys, the 6950 is the equal of the 570. I think we should just completely disregard your posts considering the magnitude of your ignorance.

I like how none of the charts you linked had an overclocked 470 in it.

Just about equal does not mean equal. Your lack of intelligance is forgiven

Here's 1 of several charts {you can find the rest but you're forgiven if you can't }

So according to you the 6950 is, and these are your words, "just about equal" to the GTX 570. Okay, got it.

Okay I've just done some further research and I was wrong about the 6950 versus the GTX570. You got me

But I'm not wrong about the GTX470 and the 6870 Hawk BTW...I still waiting for you to show me how the GTX470 DESTROYS the 6870 Hawk since the charts show it slightly beats it
post #28 of 74
^ now that you can see the 470 can equal a 480, just compare the 6870 to a 480 and there's your answer. The 470 destroys it.

The 6870 will never match a GTX 470 and that is fact.

The 6870 when overclocked to the max still loses to 5870 with a slight overclock.

If we were talking about Crossfire 6870 then that would be a different story but as a single card it sucks.
