I bought retail boards will look anything like this, of course the top end will probably have 4 DIMMs, what i really enjoy about these boards is the fact that GIGABYTE has totally upgraded their inductors to coiltronics as well as prob upgraded the DrMOS to 50A version.

if you look closely that board is not workable, its missing all its components except inductors, certain ICs, and capacitors.

intel VRD12 PMBus spec is for some 180A CPUs, but i think those are a like 10 core server varients.

However I think a good chunk of the boards will only carry 4 slots though from the early prototypes shown at computex:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4404/c...9-motherboards

Weird board though, only two full length pci-e slots and then two connectors that look like rs232 or vga connectors on the top right. Only 6 sata, 4+2 phase. I'm guessing they'll be more changes yet on this one, if not it's going to be an entry level board.
I'm just thinking from a gamer's standpoint.

From a financial standpoint this is fantastic for servers.

This board coupled with a beefy CPU and full amount of RAM will be much cheaper than the equivalent server build.

However I don't think this RAM will be ECC so may not be so useful.

The RAM slots look horrible in my opinion, not that it's going to matter when all of the slots are filled up.
