I'd rather get a ATI card, why the 6850 and not the 6870? Was told that the 6870 was the best to get at my budget of £150

A 5850 for £120 would be the best option.

Check overclocks.co.uk

Did you mean overclock.co.uk? Can't seem to find the 5850 they do the 5700 series and jump to the 6600 series. I know the 5800 cards are suppose to be good just most of them are expensive.

5850 is already one gen. old but it is still a great card, but the 6000 series scale better with CFX (future proofing?)

6870+2 games

5850

Comparison between 5850 and 6870

IMO: Get the 6870, which is also cheaper

5850 is faster then a 6870 on a per-clock basis.

You clock a 5850 upto the same 900Mhz clock as a 6870 and it'll completely destroy a 6870.

6870 is only faster because it has a 175Mhz clock speed avanatge over the 5850.

Forgot how much you could overclock the 5850s (especially the "EXTREME"
version)

Review of the 5850 Extreme

Seems 5850 beats 6870, on many levels

Its allll inside a case like this too. He was gonna try and run the 580 on his 500w Ultra PSU... I said no way, and gave him an Antec earthwatts 650w, so that gave me a reason to get a new PSU.

I don't have the funds right now for a amazing cooling system so can that 5850 Extreme be clocked to the same as the 6870 on the stock cooler? I think that probably will be the card i get then, looks nice too thanks for that Rocket Dog

?!? ?!? ?!? WOW.... The case hurts my eyes. You should return that Ultra and see if they send you a better one.

Don't bother with aftermarket GPU cooling, a big waste of time unless you're putting them on water for noise purposes.
