Already preordered mine through Gamestop.

Unless EA changes something, Origin is not required to run the game. It does not need to be running in the background either. You can set the install location to your desired directory and run the .exe file right from the hard drive. It is far less intrusive than Steam ever thought of being. You will, more than likely, (like the games I already have in Origin) just have to register the game through it to download the game or updates... using your existing EA account.

Ive already installed origin on my computer too see what it was like, ive been running it for a good while now. I dont think you are even required too have it running in the background too play BF3, but whinger gonna whinge. I dont need it running too play BC2, I just click the icon on steam.

Yes, steam. Does anyone realise you can add origin BC2 into Steam as a non steam game and still launch it from there, without having origin running, so you can still talk to your friends on steam anyway? So basically the only thing that people would have too complain about, is that if they reformat their hard drive, they will have too download it again from EA instead of steam. OUCH! what a pain! No just kidding. Its not. Sure you cant "invite" like in COD, people from steam friends list, but thats because battlefield utilizes an in-game friends list. You just invite them from in game.

I assume BF3 will be much of the same as BC2.

Damn right I'm getting BF3.

I see what people are saying about Origin, but alpha gameplay videos.
Well, I was in the Alpha, which made me pre-order because it was very good.

I've installed Origin and found it to be decent-looking and non-intrusive.

I don't really care too much about using Origin or not, don't quite see what the big deal is, but am very much aware of how much nerdrage there was when Steam was announced as being essential to play Half Life 2.

Fair enough poll but I would have like to see how many have already pre-purchased. I have.

Definitely getting it.

Would prefer if I didn't have to use Origin but I'm not missing BF3.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about Origin when Steam is the exact same thing. I hate both of them equally.

I think I'm going to skip BF3 for PC as BC2 had so many problems that were never fixed. I'll be buying BF3 for console if I decide to get it.

Getting it through Origin. Gonna pre-order it tonight/this weekend. Been to busy/lazy to do it before.

I've had no issues with Origin, so it's not a big deal to me. Just gotta add the rest of my EA Steam games to it...
