Does it matter where res/pump combo go?

Hi guys, im using the RX240 kit and am wondering if the res/pump can go in any of the 5.25" bays. I mean, does it have to be level with the CPU block or can it be lower? I assume it doesnt matter. Im going push/pull and my two top bays may not be able to be used so was going to place the res/pump in the bottom two .

On another note, if i were using a pump and res separately, is all that matters that the pump goes below the res? Just curious.

Loop order doesn't matter though there are some arrangements that can make slight mishaps less painful. Putting the pump on the bottom means there will be a lot more liquid to go thru in the case of a leak... plus a pump leak will mean it won't be leaking all over your gear. Res should be above the pump for same reasons listed above, otherwise as above, loop order doesn't matter much at all.

The ideal situation is for the res to be at the highest point and the pump at the lowest point.

If the res is pump/res is higher then everything its easier to get the air out.

There is a fill port on the haf however im not sure on how it lines up with rasa,

Maybe mount at the bottom so that you can get the liquid in easier

Unfortunately the fill port on the haf is on the wrong side , otherwise i would have used it.

Im going to have some slack on the tubes so i can pull the res/pump out a little to fill up .

Also, the pump/res cant be higher than everything as im mounting the rad on the roof of the case.

Get a XSPC bay res cap to G1/4 fitting, then slap a barb on it connected to a funnel to fill. Then use a G1/4 stop/cap to cap her off. Also, use the cut down tube trick to bleed the loop in 10 minutes or less.

Whats the cut down tube trick?

That's the one.

Cut a piece of tubing in half and thin enough to fit thru the fill hole and long enough to block the pump inlet. This will divert the inlet water/bubbles away from the pump allowing it to draw in bubble free water. It makes bleeding a simple and painless job.

That sounds alot easier than keep having to put the res cap on and tilt/shake the case . I will do both. Thanks for the tip n trick.
