Hey,
Today I read that the scientists at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are asking the public to fold for them in pursuit of the Higson Bogues. (The theorized particle that glues quantum matter together. Basically the missing piece that balances all their equations together.) If you don't know, the LHC is a high particle accelerator in Europe where they smash tiny particles together to see their subatomic structure. They gain controversy from time to time when it's worried they'll blow up the world.
(Or more accurately create black holes that will swallow us all.)
Here's the article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-14488797
..and link to their homepage: http://lhcathome.web.cern.ch/LHCathome/Physics/
Apparently it's based on a project from 2004 where people folded to "simulate protons beam dynamics in the LHC". (A way better use of resources than looking for aliens
.)
Anyone down to do some folding for this? Or let me know if you're already on it.
Regards,
GG
