Have not built a PC since 03 -build help - Page 2

Looks good guys,a few points.Bulldozer is going to be the way to go.Consider grabing a cheap CPU for now and build the rest with BD in mind. The Athlon X3 would do nicely.Upgrade your RAM,you will want 1866MHz atleast, because you will actually be able to use it with BD.Two cooler options to consider-the Xigmatek Gaia for $29

or the new NZXT Havik for $69

also your case.....
That thing is HUGE!
I would suggest getting a decent modern case. You would have to buy a bunch of fans anyway's to keep today's components cool in that tower. And 80mm fans are loud,no way around it.A simple case like this Zalman Z9 for example

not in stock at the moment-it's flying of the shelves, everyone else has finally realized how good of a value it is.

Thanks for the tips Redwoodz. Yes my case is HUGE! but i love the thing=). It is actually very light(aluminum) I think i will stick with it for the sentimental value haha. I do have a question about any after market CPU coolers, that is will they work fine with the new bulldozer CPU's? (assuming they fit fine in the first place)

On the memory i know there is a supported memory list, do you really have to get the exact item on the list?(newegg seems to be out of stock on all the 1866 ram and up on the list) or will most similar memory be ok? I'm not used to having to have a specific memory aside from speed.

Also a side question, would an old sound blaster audigy 4 i have laying around be worth throwing in?
