H100?

Thread Starter
I have been hearing mixed reviews on the H100. This website says that it's got idle temps. of 40C without overclocking and another says that it has 32 with overclocking and another says it's not worth it. I am very confused. I would like to get a good cooler for my system, you can see specs in sig, but for the benchmarks I have seen with the other H series coolers, they have been pretty much the same as the air cooler I have now. Please help me make up my mind.

if you're not going to get your feet wet....buy the best aftermarket air coolers there....if you're taking the plunge...then i suggest you buy a WC kit, or better yet, make your own custom loop...

If you're trying to save money, go for an air cooler (nh-d14 or silver arrow). If you like the idea of having an all in one "water cooling" kit with very similar performance, then go with the h100. The advantages being, you don't have a big arse heatsink and the heat is moved out of the case more efficiently.

You could add 2 more fans for push/pull, but the results won't be that noticeable because of how thin the radiator is.

H100 is a good alternative for those who: 1) do not want heavy heatsinks 2) need ram clearance 3) can't afford full wc 4) wants to achieve decent cooling. if these applies to you, h100 might be a good choice.

I basically only want to upgrade on my CPU cooling. My graphics card is very big and is getting a lot of heat from the cpu, even though I have 1 200mm fan and 1 140mm pushing air out at the back. My GPU is not getting the best performance due to that, so I would like to stay away from air coolers, but I have no need, nor the money, to get a whole WC system.

just picked up a H100, works very well, very happy with it. Your gfx card may need to be the one getting some cooling attention. Loved the H70 before it and the V8 cooler looks fantastic.......worked like poop but looked fantastic

Awesome, thanks guys, I think I am going to go for the H80, it seems though the H100 doesn't perform too much better than it and I will still be able to utilize the dual 200mm fans at the top of my case. I think that once I install an H80, my GPU will definitely lower in temps.
