Help Me Decide Please

Thread Starter
Been spending a lot of time reading threads on OCN to help me decide on a good gaming headset.

I have narrowed my options down to two choices. Please help me decide:

1.) Xense Bundle @ $300

2.) Sennheiser PC 360 + X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty @ $327

1 has the better soundcard and 2 has the better headset.

The second choice looks good but the only thing holding me back is the titanium card included (fatality editions suck), wish they just included the titanium HD (replacable op amps) .

Then again the first choice is not so bad since it's also paired up with the PC350 which I think is just the older version of the PC360.

In this case I would take the Xense bundle it's cheaper!

If the Fata1ity card is that bad, I can always substitute a normal X-Fi Titanium card. That would bring option 2 to $314

what's your budget? $320?

If so, you can get far better combos than what you've suggested.

Mark, the PC360 is significantly improved from the PC350.

Just please don't get Fatal1ty. XRAM is completely worthless. Just a marketing gimmick.

The most I want to spend on a Headset + Soundcard is around $320.

PC360, from what I read on this site, is pretty freaking good as far as headsets come. Right now I have onboard sound but I also read that I prolly want a soundcard paired with that headset. Right?

As far as sound cards, the only thing I really learned so far is the Fata1ity card is garbage.

If there is a better headset/soundcard deal please let me know... or if I even need a soundcard.

Titanium HD + headphone depending on:

how are you going to use it?
music taste?
Do you require a headset or is a headphone + external mic ok?

I will use it for gaming only. I would say 78.4% of my gaming is on my PC. My first choice would be for a headset.

I know OCN are not HUGE fans of headsets but I did see a sticky where the PC360 was recomended if you HAD to have a headset.

You wouldn't even need a Titanium HD if you want to save some money. Get an Auzentech Forte. Auzentech is the only company that has access to all the EAX and other stuff that Creative uses. Except that auzentech uses better quality components and has no bloatware. The Forte will do everything you need in terms of gaming and music as well. Here it is for $90 refurbed. If you want the headset then the PC360 should do, although I do not have a much knowledge about headsets.

Well for what you said sounds like what my sound decision was like. I went with he Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro's (~$200) and the Titanium HD (~$150). Now I have used some of the top tier gaming headsets(A40's, Megalodons) and you cant compare a good pair of quality headphones and a clip on mic to a headset. the Headphones beat the headset every time.
