Will MSI accept an overclocked card?

Can I send back my overclocked MSI Cyclone GTX 460 that I just fried ?

I was overclocking it and I apparently went too far. I should have listened to everyone who said that OCCT will damage your card . It was doing fine, topping out at like 83c, which I understand isn't really all that hot for OCCT and the GTX 460. I had hit the limit of the regular clock and was increasing the memory clock. I increased the voltage from 1.062v to 1.087v and tried to increase the memory clock by 25MHz (50MHz in Afterburner). After about 30 minutes of OCCT and a max temp of 83c it just shut down and wouldn't boot up. It smelled like something had fried. After a while of waiting, it managed to boot up, the monitor just didn't recognize that it was plugged in. The fan still works so it must not be totally fried.

I don't think MSI will accept a RMA will they? I might try it anyway .

Damn, and just when I thought I had the hang of overclocking...

Nope, overclocking voids your warranty.

Damn this sucks. I don't really understand why it fried, it's not like I was pushing it THAT much.

Can you guys tell me what I did wrong? I thought I played it pretty safely. I increased the core clock in increments of 10 MHz every time and then tested for stability on OCCT for 1 hour (increasing the voltage by 10 MHz each time if unstable). When I reached the cap for the core clock I started increasing the memory clock and in increments of 10 MHz. I increased the voltage when it was unstable by the smallest amount possible, usually .01 or .015v. I did reach 1.087v at the end but I thought that was still considered pretty safe? And my temperatures don't sound too crazy right? I mean I've heard of people running these at 90c+ in SLI.

Also, is the most common symptom of instability artifacts or crashes? Because I never once got artifacts but my PC would often freeze and sometimes shut down.

Anyways, what card do you guys recommend for about the same price (less than $250). Should I try the same one and hope I don't fry it this time ?

Wait, there really isn't a way to tell? Maybe I should **** up my card more so that there's 0% chance for them to know

Well if you blew a VRM then your pretty screwed but they might still accept it.

NO do not do anything else to that GPU.
