Canabalized Rosewill for Filco Switch Swap - Page 3

Thread Starter
Wombat, I can take some pictures for you later today but I'm not sure what exactly you're asking for. Are you asking for pictures of the daughter controller board that can be removed from the PCB or are you asking for pictures of the PCB with all of the switches soldered on?

Keep in mind that my Filco is a first generation tenkeyless, I have no idea what the internals of the newer generation looks like and have never even touched one.

I was hoping to see pics of the controller board for you Filco Tenkeyless if possible.

I'm also working on my Filco Tenkeyless and need to do a soldering job on the cable / input pins where they attach to the controller board. If I'm not careful then I may fry the controller board because of incorrect wiring. So, I'm looking for a heads up on what you did so I can bring myself up to speed before I possible screw up the controller board with a dodgy / incorrect soldering job.

Same as mine. I'm mucking around (changing the cable) on my Filco Tenkeyless MX Blue.

For what it's worth / I'm modding it to us a native a PS/2 connection ... minus the USB - PS/2 adapter. Sounds crazy but I'm mucking around with trying to ground the base plate .. blah blah don't ask, everyone else does. I just want to try a native (non-usb) straight through plug on my Filco without the USB - PS/2 adapter. Then I'm going to mod the case and ad USB ports so that I have 'on board' USB sockets like on Das keyboards.

I'll need a custom cable job for that as I don't want 2 separate cables running into my Filco, but the first step is a native PS/2 cable then I'm going to work in the USB ports.

Thanks.

I did find this picture off of google that might help. I should note that the above picture, as well as the pictures in this thread, are of the original first generation Rosewills that did not have the detachable cable. If you have the newer one with the detachable cable, I think your best bet is to make a new thread and ask for help either here or at geekhack.org.
Sorry I couldn't help.

@ Skkhai.

You have a link for that pic? What website did you find it on?

Thanks.
