ASUS P8P67 Pro Died? [NEED HELP!] - Page 2

OP:

I recently had the same exact symptoms that you had but for a friend's build, except that it was an Open Box MOBO and it happened right out of the box. Wouldn't even let me setup Windows without shutting off. Clearing the CMOS via battery disconnection fixed it, but only until I booted it up again.

I'd say that the MOBO is pretty much fried, and it was the same exact motherboard. When we got a new ASUS P8Z68 from Fry's, everything was spit and span and worked (although for some reason the front USB ports were about to fry. Burnt my finger figuring that out so I just hastily powered down and d/ced it from the mobo)

Careful what you get from open boxes from time to time. :]

So I've tested the powersupply on a diferret motherboard and everything powered up fine with it. I managed to access the bios no problem. It leaves me to believe that the motherboard did crap out on me. Although I have no way of testing the memory, chances of both sticks going bad I find hard to believe. I guess its time to do a RMA...
