Thread Starter
ok so i want to oc my CPU and GPU and maybe SLI later on my build is

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II
CPU: Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
PSU: CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 800W
CASE: CoolerMaster HAF X Case
Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
MB: ASUS Crosshair V Formula
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB
CPU cooler CoolerMaster V8 CPU Cooler
Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DG

with maybe one or two led lights in the case is the 800w going to do it

ps is this a good build lol thank you

That 800w will be overkill for one GTX580, but for two 580s it would be cutting it close.

I'd opt for a quality 850w atleast.

For 2x 580's get a nice 850w PSU, especially if you want to do some over clocking. You could get away with less though, i dont know the quality of CM PSU's so i cant comment.

everyone is telling me different things i want to get a 2ed 580 but i also was thinking of getting one a waiting for nvidia to bring out they're new cards

hx850 at least to go GTX 580 sli. Why not go for a double slot GTX580 (Lightning Xtreme) if you want to Sli btw? you can save some expansion slots while having good OCing ability.

EDIT: Plus I think you are gonna bottleneck the card(s) with ur X4. Go for Bulldozer when it comes then go for GTX 580 SLI.

you could technically get away with a quality 750w unit, but your 800w if its a good unit will be suffice
