ASUS HD5450 Silent - How can I improve my overclock?

Thread Starter
I have an ASUS HD5450 Silent graphics card with stock speeds of 650MHz Core and 450MHz Memory. I have since added a small fan, allowing me to quite comfortably reach 817MHz core and 536MHz Memory, after which I start getting artifacts. My card only reaches 44 degrees Celsius when running Furmark at 1280x1024(my desktop resolution), even with Xtreme burn-in enabled. The card has no extra power cables, drawing all it's power from the PCIe x16 slot. How, if possible, could I increase my overclock? and how far?

My parents have a HIS 5450 and it maxes out Afterburner with no artifacting etc. This is the one without a fan, it's passively cooled.

So maybe it's my memory clock? I will try lowering it and see where i get. Is the memory on your parent's one overclocked, or just the core?

Both are maxed out on Afterburner.

is that 5450 ddr 2 or ddr 3?
if its the ddr2 version, you wont be able to take the ram further than 520 with stable performance

It's a DDR2. It seems to have been my memory clock. By dropping it to 520 I have been able to hit 880 (overdrive's max) and stay stable. Thanks to you both for the help.

EDIT: I got the memory up to 585, Afterburners max, and is running stable biggrin.gif
