And they came in together just today!

These 2 models represent the highest and lowest ends of the latest Asrock Extreme Gen3 series of Intel Z68 motherboard range. Both sport the new highly attractive Asrock look which means dark stealthy colours offset by gold highlights in the form of 100% Japanese 'Gold' caps used as well as the stylised gold branding letters emblazoned on the heatsinks.

OK, let's rock with Asrock and roll out the preview with some quick pics...

- all screwed down affair for the heatsinks

Wanted to show how tall, thick and heavy these heatsinks are on the E7.

Just compare the shipping weights of the 2 mobos, one is about twice as heavy as the other - man, that's really crazy heavy!

3 fan headers & flexible LGA775/1155 mounting holes

Full house socket caps

Updated 160811 - earlier slot layout was apparently erroneous, corrected layout now in place.

Nice square buttons

Header power incl. PS2

2 oz Copper
- may be why this mutha is so heavy...

I remember getting a skt775 asrock board before we got core2duo/core2quads and it looked so plain as well as basic but served it's purpose in a cheap PC.

Now though i'm loving the look of both these boards as well as a few other of asrock motherboards that have come out lately.

Likewise, I had a LGA775 Asrock for my Intel 805 yonks ago too and boy, was that a mundane plain looking boring mobo altho' it o'c well and was cheap enough.

Asrock is no longer the same company that it was, definitely way more forward looking.

Another very early sample with the factory UEFI version of M0.14 beta! Of course, this was promptly updated to the latest P1.00 final retail version.

A quick LinX default run at 4.5GHz is no problem, just to check out the Vcore behaviour. This run was done at Fixed Vcore of 1.304V LLC1.

Awaiting Asrock Taiwan's reply on the E3 G3 P1.00 UEFI Vcore settings so now might as well swap over to the E7 G3 since Asrock Support practises a 5 day work week.

This E7 G3 mobo is another very early sample from the factory sporting M0.16 beta which was promptly updated to the final retail P1.00.

And you guys got to see this E7 G3 startup screen live cos it is stunning! My handheld crooked PnS piccy does not do it any justice... argh! But no matter, I am pestering Asrock Taiwan to share their original highres picture for use as a desktop background screen.
