Yeah, but that's not a paste. wink.gif

On the mention of Shin Etsu, there seems to be an even newer type:

http://www.overclock.net/other-cooling-discussions/1098759-x23-7921-5-a.html

I checked the PDF on this paste and it's not very specific, it specs the thermal conductivity as >6.0 W/m*K, 7783D being no greater than 6 itself; as for thermal resistance, 7783D is at 7.3 mm2-K/w while the new stuff is listed as <7.0. So this should marginally best anything better than 7783D, but nobody's tested it yet as far as I can tell. Edit; I also noticed it's noticeably more viscous than 7783D... but in practice I don't know how much harder it spreads.

Anybody here excited for the final test and the shin etsu test Skinneelabs is doing? I'm interested in indigo xtreme's competitor that's in the last test and the new shin etsu pastes.

The best thermal paste is a TIM which has been applied correctly, do not believe those Forum reviews, they all have their own different results..
With consideration that all the different brands have been correctly applied (no trapped air, thinnest possible layer etc etc), I would opt for Shin-Etsu X23-7783D and when their new TIM X-23-7921-5 reaches Retail, I will definitely try/test for comparison.
Everyone have their own opinions, their favourites, so yours may differ from mine therefore I cannot state which is the better TIM, but can only offer you my two Cents.
