Q9550 -- 3.7GHz @1.128V, 4GHz @1.235V

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz E0 L847C194

Prime and IBT stable at 3.7GHz @1.128V.

Boots to desktop at 4.0GHz @1.208V.

Game stable at 4.0GHz @1.235V.

Cannot reach Prime stable at 4GHz with any voltage due to my motherboard's limitations (no GTL ref fine-tuning). With a good EP45-UD3* this chip should easily hit >4.5GHz given the cooling.

What's it worth to a real overclocker?

I think 180 - 200 would be a good bargain for such a great chip! (Especially since it would dominate any Phenom II out there!)

That's 160$-195$ EASY. Especially since it's a golden chip, and clocks that High @ 1.235V's @ 4Ghz.

Its a good chip but old is still old.

I'd have to go with the $150 - $170 range. It is a great processor, but I believe that most "real overclockers" have moved past LGA775.

People can clock Higher on LGA 775 than LGA 1155/1156, but LGA 1366 so far has seen the highest Oc's.

I know "real overclockers" who are still experimenting with Athlon XP systems. Age don't figure into it.

I have asked several sellers of the Q9550 if they got their asking price and the answer might supprise you.
Yes, it's older platform but you cannot refute the fact the Q9550 is still a beast reguardless of newer platforms.

I would still ask $175 shipped. Gl with the sale and mine may go on the block as a package deal.
