Connecting old Speakers

I have these speakers how do I connect the to PC.


The only have the red and black connector.

You need to use an amp of some kind - most PC speakers are powered (in they have an amp built into the cabinet) so they only need a signal to function.

Those are passive speakers and require a separate amplifier to drive them, which would be what plugged into the computer.

If you have a receiver you could do go this route...

Computer on-board optical out -> optical in on receiver -> then hook up some speaker wire from the receiver to the speakers.

Many receivers will have optical in....That is the setup I am running currently.

well you would just get regular speaker wire....can be anything really...


That will get you sound from your receiver/amp to your speakers.

This is something to look at for an amplifier...cheap and solid.
