I'm doing a backup as we speak. Read speeds from my OS drive (2 RAID0 500GB WD Blacks) is ~130MB/s. Write speed on my F4 (Same model) is 180MB/s. Not sure if that helps.

Did you update the firmware just in case?

30MB/s would not be unusual when moving smaller files from one place to another on the same drive.

However, if those files are coming from a different physical disk of similar speed, you should be seeing much faster speeds.

If this drive is connected by usb that is normal however if It is connected to sata2 like your other drive it seems a bit slow ( i have 3 of those drives) you do have quite a few files so i would just let it finish then try a group of larger files i usually get around 80MB/s if the drive is partially full currently the drives have around 70gb left and they are running in the 50MB/s range for writes. These are larger files though ~2Gig each
If the manufacture date is from 2011 you should not need to update the firmware.

It depends on the nature of what you are transferring. If you're moving some big DVD9 images, you'll get some nice sustained writes, of 130MB/sec or more.

However, if you're moving loads of small files (like source code), even from a different location, you'll see write speeds drop. I noticed this too, and this is even while copying to a RAID 5 with 6 of the same F4EGs, whereas benching gives an average 400MB+/sec write speed.
