Great comment

Completely irrelevant but still very amusing

Further to the TS requirements, AMD is by no means a "bad" purchase. However, without any understanding of Bulldozer performance, Going Intel/Sandy Bridge is likely to be the better choice.

More than double the performance of a 955 in a "gaming" situation for twice the price with lower end GPUs.

I think I'm done here, enjoy OP.
What in the world are you talking about Balla? I just re-posted the OPs statement where he clearly states he can not afford a dual card setup, and you then dig up some skewed comparison of a supercharged dual-card Intel setup agianst a watered down dual card AMD setup and act like this has some merit. It doesn't. I agree that you are done here, as a matter of fact , everything that you have posted in this thread is completely irrelevant- so you were done here before you even started.

im personally satisfied with my AMD 955 set up hell it's bone stock and i've never had to overclock it just to get a game to run good i can play any game on the market even Crysis 2 with the patches and what not and get 60fps avg with as low as 50fps making it very nice (my GPU taxes out on usage on 99%) i also was on budget i got the new 990XA Gigabyte motherboard with has 3 PCI-E slots running at 16/8/4 respectfully and it only costed me $139 giving me ALOT of expansion for future upgrades and since my comp is water cooled to well that'll work out good in the future aswell ^-^.

Also, the benchmarks even on stock outperform the Intel 2600k in a heartbeat. Personally I would never buy an Intel simply because of how out of wack their business plan is, but still, it will be nice to actually be able to say "My CPU kicks your ass" if only for a while.

Edit: Note I am talking about top of the line model for around 300 buckaroos.
You have not seen any benchmarks of a BD cpu@3.9Ghz stock and 4.5GHz turbo

Go ahead and try and dig up a FX8170 ES benchmark, you cant

I dont think AMD is a waste, its a lot cheaper than intel and AMD is a lot more versitile(backwards compability with most of their newer, and some older, cpu sockets and coolers). You are still able to reach respectable results with an AMD build.

IMO, AMD is not a waste... They are much more easier to upgrade overtime than Intel without needing to buy another different board for different CPU era.

Maybe it's true as well for AMD now since most 990FX board supports FX CPU (bulldozer) but my 890FX can take a dip into 8 cores FX CPU with just the BIOS updates.
