Here's a story I have on the subject.
I used to live in a trailer park with my brother and the guy across the street was a really old fart, complained about everything as if he owned the place. As an example, one day I had simply did a turn to leave out, didn't hurt anything of his or nothing yet we got a notice about a complaint that was made about "Us" driving in his grass/yard while turning to leave.

This guy was also known to have complained about noise even though he would be outside cleaning his vehice with the radio way up doing the exact same thing he was always complaining about - Yeah, he was one of those types.

Well my brother had one of the big JVC home entertainment systems with all the options and the really big speakers too. We never cranked it up since we knew it could cause a problem if we had BUT the capability was there and yes, I used it but not the way you'd think.
After he had done some cleaning of his car with the radio blasting away (Again), I thought I'd have some fun with him.

The weather that day was sunny, not a cloud in the sky to be seen.

I setup "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath to start playing and was working the volume. The parts where the thunder was rumbling I cranked it way up, turned it down when anything else would play.
This guy came out and was looking all around at the sky!

He looked up and around for a minute, then went back in. Of course I did it again and yes, he came back out once more looking around.

I still get a chuckle everytime I think about it.

I live up in the mountains outside of Santa Cruz. Neighbors take care of each other and this guy pissed off the whole neighborhood (he was squatting in a 96yo lady's granny unit on her property among other nasty things...). There is only one way in and out and the guy at the top of the road would always call us to let us know the A-hole was on his way home. One night several of the neighbors who were sick of this guy coming home at 2:30am, racing into the community, revving his engine, screaming at the top of his lungs, etc..., so we ambushed him with firehoses one night. Just as he pulled up and was getting out of the car, we hit him with 2 streams, flooded his truck and blew him over. Again, When the cops showed up, all the firehoses were put away and no one saw anything.

The cops knew this guy. Turns out he had been scamming seniors (mostly little old ladies) for many years and we were the first community to stand up to him. They "talked" with the community and "urged" us not to do anything illegal while we fought to get him out of the neighborhood. They knew we were involved, but it was always our word against his and the majority ruled.

I ended up in court to get a restraining order against the guy after he unloaded his 22 rifle into our house (guy was too stupid to realize he was shooting at our bathroom and not bedroom). I made it my mission in life to make sure he wouldn't do that again. He won't. In fact he won't ever bother anyone again...

OK, that sucks. I was almost hit on my motorcycle a couple of weeks ago by some kids drifting through a blind corner... (disclaimer: I have been known to drift on that same road, but never on a blind corner).

THe noise from the airplanes would drive me nuts, but then again where we live is so dark and quiet, you can hear a pin drop and see the spark from the tip hitting the asphalt... lol!

BTW: my experience with the crazy guy went on for over 2 years... I have some really funny and really scary stories. When the guy shot at our dogs with the BB gun, I went out to bust his head. Turns out I used up all of my energy keeping my wife from killing him. (remind me never to piss her off)

You did a great job on the repair, I love seeing stuff like this. But there is something I just have to comment on.

My daughter's classmate was killed because someone was shooting up in the air. If you gotta shoot with no target, please aim for the dirt! You never know how far those shots can travel, or who will be unfortunate enough to be standing in the way when the come crashing down.

Now that I have that out of my system, I'm loving all the stories about messing with neighbors. The one about Black Sabbath and the thunder cranked up really loud was awesome. I wish I had some awesome stories like that to share, but I've been lucky with my neighbors.

OK, here is another. Same guy, different date (before the drive by on my house).

We found out that said nut job was video taping us through our windows or whenever we were in the back yard. The DA told us nutjob was video taping us through what the DA said looked like a hole in his wall. The same wall that faces our house. Since there are no windows in that wall, he had drilled several holes to video tape us through. We found out where they were by looking for light leaks. The wife hired a couple of male strippers to come over and dance in front of the wall making sure to show their jiggly bits (I am sure she loved it too...)lol!

He complained to the cops, but they laughed it off and told him if he kept bothering them for nonsense they would charge him with falsifying police reports. (which they eventually did anyway).

Several days later we marked up the wall with where we thought the holes were and waited for him to leave. When he was gone, we put the hose up to one of the holes and let it spray for several hours. Cops showed up again after he complained and again it was a his word against ours. The cops confided in us that the only reason they were even responding to his calls was because he had opened a lawsuit against the county sheriffs accusing them of playing favorites or some BS like that.
