also if you are looking for some other opinions there is quite a few here.

think around page 17-20 there is some response time tests.

but you asked what the difference are between the 2410 and 2412.

the 2410 is wide gamut, has a card reader, and is a higher bit panel.

from using the 2412 I can say it has been great so far. image quality and response time are great in my opinion and the only complaint I have had is the displayport. otherwise one of the perks over the 2410 for me was srgb, led backlight, and was far cheaper.
I'm seriously considering picking up a U2412M. Can you explain what kind of complaint you have about the display port?

U2410

H-IPS, real 8-bit panel, 400 cd/m2, 6ms gtg

U2412M

E-IPS, 6-bit panel + FRC, 300 cd/m2, 8ms gtg

Due to being LED, it uses W-LED so AdobeRGB coverage is down from 110% to 96% and color support is down from 1.07 billion to 16.7 million.

For pure image quality the U2410 is better.

The dell didn't like the cheap cable I purchased, so I had to get a little better one. To be specific it wouldn't come out of sleep mode while plugged in.

did some research and displayport 1.1 added some requirement along the line of not sending power over pin 20. got a different cable and it works fine now.

the 2410 will have more colors becuase it is wide gamut but if you don't need that like me I would choose the 2412. If you do the 2410 is still part of dell's lineup to support people that want wide gamut.

almost all games and software is going to be srgb though, so you would just be emulating srgb with a 2410 in most situations. depending on what you use it for of course.
