Dead motherboard?

I'm up a creek without a paddle. Just finished installing my H100, but when I turned it on, it wouldn't go into BIOS. Fans would spins, and everything lights up but after that it shuts down and repeats the process. Is my motherboard shot or is this symptom of something else?

turning off is symptom of heating. also its might be bad overclock but bios should reset itself to default if oc settings dont work.

from ur sig. the cpu+gpu overclocked first thing i would do is to reset bios (with jumper or whatever its done with your mobo) and return to stock cooling and check it if it works this way.

Same thing happen to me first hit, After installing the H100.
I let it sit for 5 minutes, Booted up long enough to check temp.
The over heating was shutting it down.
For some reason the pump on the 100 didn't kick start.
Unplugged everything, Put them all back in place. And never did it again.
Hope this helps out in some way for you.

Tried with no success...resetting BIOS did nothing either

Check your Motherboard stand off's. It may be touching the backplate and shorting out. Take the MB out of the case and see.

I had the same problem after my GD65 fried.. killed my 2600K Same symptoms as what you are describing.. but I doubt this is the case here.

Try installing the previous CPU cooler and see if it works again
post #7 of 13
spooky, my first gd65 did that too
try unplugging everything (hd's included) reseat gfx card/swap it, reseat ram or remove 1 stick.

mine did something similer after id hibernated the pc, then unplugged it due to thunderstorm. took 30mins to get it going again trying stuff.
unplugging the hd which had windows on did the trick and got it to post.

also make sure you connect the additional motherboard power cable (4/8 pins) and also that the gpu power connected.
