Trouble using 6950CF with GT520 for PhysX

Thread Starter
I recently added a GT520 as a dedicated physx card to my system. I realize there are better choice for a card but I got it for nearly free and wanted to give it a shot

I had the AMD 10.8 drivers installed and installed the nvidia drivers and then ran the ff1.04 hack and ran fluidmark. It appeared to be working then I noticed in all games only one amd card was working. I go into ccc and crossfire is disabled and I cannot enable it. Then I ran fluidmark without the GT520 and it didn't seem any different from the previous run with the GT520, so I assume it wasn't working.

Any work arounds for this?

Also how can I get the GT520 to fold in GPU3?

Thanks!

Worst case I give the GT520 to my mom, remove her 8400Gs and donate it to granny, put 6950CF in wife's pc, and buy the new 560 that runs multi-monitors off one card as I use three.

Considering it only has 48 SP, it really doesn't have the power to run PhysX. It meets minimum requirements, sure, but it's far too weak compared to your primary card. You might see less performance than running off the cpu.

Ok, but if I buy a GT430 which has 96, would that be sufficient? Any clues on the crossfire issue?

Not sure about crossfire. As far as PhysX goes, I wouldn't go with anything less than a GTS250/9800gtx (128sp). Especially on a powerful setup like you have. GTS450 is probably ideal.

I got it to fold by itself, but it was terrible compared to the 6950 (kind of expected)

It will go into my mom's, I will be the proud owner of a new motherboard and a pair of 580s soon.

Pair of 580's? Yeah... that'll run PhysX just fine

Nice . I'm coming off three 6950s to three 580s.
