5670 Three monitor issue - Page 2

Thread Starter
Took the case apart and turned the fans switches up to hi. I can't seem to adjust my fans with speedfan.

This time when it booted up from a shutdown all three monitors came on no problem.

I didn't check to see if the graphics fan was working.

Got speedfan running and my temps down. Do I have to leave speedfan running all the time? If so, how do I get it to load automatically everytime I reboot?

Okay, so obviously, something was overheated. What fans did you turn up to hi-speed?

If you would like to let speedfan control your fans, than yes, you do have to leave it running all the time. To make it load at startup;

1. Make a shortcut of the main speedfan application
2. Cut/copy the shortcut
3. Go to Start>All programs>then right click on the "startup" folder, and press explore
4. Paste the shortcut in there

Unfortunatly, I don't think the problem is solved yet. It sounds wierd to me that changing a couple of fans on hi-speed would fix it. To prove me wrong, can you please run a stability test? To do this, restart the computer 10 times, with a 30-second break in between each restart. I know this might be a hassle, but it's the only way to tell.

Good luck,
Jack

The test is to see if the monitor problem prevails or the heat problem? Or both?

Weird find today. ATI overdrive in CCC says my graphics card temp is only 34c. So what is temp3 in speedfan?

Could be a motherboard temp sensor, most likely that of your chipset.

Theres a separate temp for core. I assume that is my processor. I wonder if it's my sound card. It sits right above my video card.

You are probably right. Temp3 is usually chipset temp.

OP: Don't rely on that temp though, temps other than the primary cpu temps are read through very cheaply-made diodes which a lot of times can read temps legitimately up to 40C innacurate . I forgot catalyst can read gpu temps. Catalyst or MSI afterburner are your best bets for finding your gpu temps . Have you done the test yet?
