Hi i was wondering where I can get a cheap(but new) IPS screen. I need between 20" and 24", just throw out suggestions. Budget is $300 max.

Go for the Dell U2311H. You can find it for $260 or so, sometimes cheaper.

I agree with the above. I just picked up a third one last week for $255, and I don't think there's a better monitor in this price range.

Just my 2c worth...

Had to get myself a new monitor yesterday too as my Viewsonic has been dead for some time. Here are the ones I was looking at:

LG IPS231P-BN ~£150:
Cheapest decent IPS panel I could find, was sorely tempted but the slightly slower response times and average build quality made me think twice. I also noticed the top/bottom bezels were uneven, which may be a bit annoying in eyefinity.

Dell U2311H ~£200:
Seems to beat all competitors in almost all areas (except TNs in pixel response) around its price range. Don't think Dell have a zero dead pixel policy though.

Viewsonic VP2365WB ~£200:
Almost as good as the U2311H in all respects besides pixel response, which it loses on due to lack of overdrive. Comes with Viewsonic's zero dead pixel policy (part of the reason I chose my old Viewsonic over Samsung).

Dell's warranty on their Ultrasharp line can't be beat. They will replace the monitor if it has any bad pixels, and pay for shipping both ways.

When I received my first 2 about 6 or 8 months ago, the DVI port on one of them was a little out of line (it still worked though). I called up my Dell rep on a Thursday around noon, and they overnighted me a replacement that I received Friday morning about 22 hours after I called. Now I will say that it shipped from Dallas and I'm only a state over in Little Rock, but still...

All I did was pack the old monitor in the box the new one came in, slap on the UPS sticker that they sent along, and gave it to the UPS guy that they sent out for pickup. I didn't even have to wait for our usual UPS person.

I do want to say that we (our company) do buy a lot of Dell products, and I have our Dell rep on speed dial, but I have heard many impressive stories from regular consumers.

Just another 2c worth...

Keep in mind, the mentioned Dell, and probably any IPS you find at that price, is a 6-bit e-IPS, not a "proper" 8 bit IPS.
