Here is a quick shot of the MB tray:

With the motherboard, CPU, cooler and RAM installed:

Had an issue with the RAM. I bought Corsair Vengeance sticks but forgot that I was using an air cooler Fortunately, I had had some more RAM lying around that I could use (2 x 4GB):

I'm not wild about the location of the SATA ports, but it will work for this build (not a great shot, I know):

With the video and sound cards installed:

Time to test it out. This is where I love the removable tray. It makes it SO easy to test everything BEFORE it goes into the case. I wanted this for years...

Hmm... No power switch on the mobo. No problem - I'll just "borrow" it from the case. Takes less than a minute to remove:

Here is where the M8 was born Pretend you don't see the wild SATA cables

just a note.. if you need to turn on the mobo and dont have a button just connect the 2 power pin connectors to short them . Its just like using the power button. Just use a screw driver. NICE BUILD! ICANHAZADOPTMENOW?

A couple of shots of the final project:

I know, my paw prints are everywhere...

That wraps it up. Really basic build, but was fun to do anyway and was a chance to show a couple of features on the M8

Here's a preview of coming attractions

Thanks for watching

Good tip - thanks. I like having the HDD activity light available so I have a better idea of what's going on. A holdover, I guess from my programming days.
