Not really a deal per se, but since this is a highly sought after card that's been sold out for about two months now literally everywhere, I thought that anyone who is looking to get this card might be interested in knowing that it's back in stock @ newegg.

Here's the thing though (it's a little weird), if you try and type in "msi 580 lightning" in the newegg search bar, you'll be brought to the 3GB versions page. If you try to type in "msi 580", you'll only see the TF2 version or the 3GB Lightning version listed. The 1.5GB version won't show up for some reason if you try and use the search bar on their site. I've had the product page for the 1.5GB bookmarked for the past couple months though, and have been checking daily for when it would be restocked, and today when I checked, it showed up as being in stock for $530.

So anyway, a little weird, but enjoy!

EDIT: I just remembered that the original price of this card was $535, so I guess this would qualify for a deal, $5 off. lol

$80 for a card that runs slower due to the increased memory in comparison to the 1.5GB at certain resolutions. It may have more vram, but that's only useful for people who run x3 monitors or one of those Dell Ultrasharps with crazy high amounts of AA, and even then the performance difference is only like 3-4 frames, but in comparison, the 1.5GB outperforms the 3GB version by the same margin at anything less than a super-high resolution with tons of AA.

So the increased vram doesn't necessarily make the other revision any better, it's just that they excel in different areas.
