Eh, this I will probably not buy.

They're still using the Source engine....they need to move on and make a better engine; enough with this activision-esque crap.

I hope by "Pro", they don't mean those guys that play CS:S. Hopefully they invite the big names from 1.6, like walle, nothing, forest, Spawn...etc They will know how to make the game competitive. But I do respect the fact that Valve want to make the game more diverse and tactical.

Valve get this Counter Strike game right. We don't need another CS:CZ or CS:S failure.

Agreed.

If you want competetive, just go play 1.6.

I had a discussion about it with a mate, we thought it would be cool as a pug (Pick up game, public competetive) type thing with 5v5 randomly assorted teams. Of course to make it fair, which inevitably it won't be, they'll need to implement matchmaking. Problem is, no game to this date has found a way of matchmaking evenly, rendering CS:GO completely pointless and revealing that it's just Valve's defense shield against MW3 and BF3.

This

Same game engine after all these years shows valve is not changing it any time soon, funny how people always use that as a point in activision hate threads.

Also whats the point they cant change anything or the fans would go crazy, still using the source engine; thus probably going to be the same game as source.

When was BF3 publically announced? CS:GO has probably been in the works around the time the CSS Beta went live. Depending on how this game is being designed, it could have been in the works for the past 5 years.

why exactly is cs1.6 better than css? i was just playing quake 3 arena when those were being released, so i never really played anything pre-css.

edit: also, wouldnt this game compete with "tactical intervention" the game made by the creator of counterstrike, rather than games like bf3 and mw3?

Like I said a few weeks ago, 2011-2012 is looking to shape up to be the best year in gaming since the release of HL2. I'll definitely be getting this on release. Built in match making and designing the game with e sports in mind seals the deal for me.
