Big meh. If anything I prefer it as hopefully it offers auto patching, keeps any DLC in one place etc...

I really disliked in BF2 having to own discs, then separate patches on my PC, then DLC on EA downloader. I like having a single place of access and having used Origin, it seems like a nice piece of software.

I think autopatching / preloading the game is already there

I installed BF 2142 and needed a patch, clicked on BF 2142 icon on Origin and inside theres this list with "Update to latest patch" You just click Download and then auto install.

When I installed Crysis2 it made me load origin, about half way through I could no longer click on resume game..had to uninstall origin to get the game to play. If BF3 requires origin, I'm gonna be pretty pissed, cause so far it sucks. What happens when origin bites the dust??? I avoided Steam for a long time for the same reason.
