I don't know what was happening last night, but for some reason my brain was switching E7 and E9 around. I apologize.
As for the E9, I've never tried it out personally, so I can't say. The lowest amp I've demo'd for the 650 has been the E7, and it sounded significantly less controlled in the lows in comparison with the Little Dot and others. At that point I actually preferred my 595s.

The E7 doesn't have the power to drive high impedance headphones properly. The E9 does.
