A Small Warning to Java Users

Thread Starter
Java 32-Bit Update 25 can corrupt 64-bit Windows and make it not detect half your hardware. Had this happen on two machines, one mine, the other a friend's.

After downloading Java Update 25, and then trying to go to Update 26 when it came out can cause a Windows Installer Package Error. Java 32-bit will then refuse to uninstall and possibly stop working altogether. About a month after, without downloading anything past that point, Windows 7 64-Bit stopped detecting the 2nd core in my rig and 1GB of RAM (presumably the first stick). On my friend's computer it stopped detecting 2 cores of his Phenom II X4 and 1.5GB of RAM (Out of 4GB). This can have large impacts on performance.

To fix, wipe your hard-drive, reinstall Windows and download the 64-bit version of Java.
