450 causing gaming lag??

Thread Starter
Hello all,
So as the tittle says i am having a bunch of problems with my gaming. Playing older HL games such as TF2, CS:S, or DoD:S after either a few minuets of playing or going into intense battle situations the game stutters and lags out.
Sometimes it will work fine for a little while, other times it happens after 5 minuets of playing. When playing newer games like SC2 or Crysis 2 there is no problem.

I have re installed steam and updated drivers for my GPU and my CPU with no luck.

Do you think this is a GPU error, another hardware error, or just valve being stupid?
I was about to go out and just buy a new card today but then decided to stop and ask the professionals first

Thanks for your help guys!!

Had the same problem here. It's an Nvidia problem as far as I know, so if you are going to buy another card, go AMD, they don't seem to have these problems. It's probably either drivers or the card underclocking that's causing stuttering for you.
