See how far you can go with 1.075v. Find the max core clock at that voltage, then find the max memory clock.

OCCT with the correct shader test will make any reference 4870/90/x2 shut off.

I never run more than a few minutes of OCCT. There are no temp sensors on the vrms on most current cards. I saw what this test did to the vrms on my GTX280.

I found all of these tests to not work very well with GTX570. I recently received an open box (refurb) Asus GTX570 and it ran OCCT, furmark, gputool, etc just fine but when I played Crysis as well as a few other games it would artifact.

Ok, so I did a 925Mhz OC with 1063Mv and got 227 errors in OCCT within the first 2 minutes...I suppose that's bad...

Now 925 with 1075, still a bunch of errors. Not sure what to do.

Ran 900Mhz with 1075 and no problems.

950 with 1.1v, 1000 errors within first minute.

950 with 1.15v and no problem except for purpleish stuff around the OCCT test picture (which if I am not mistaken is artifacting?) But the temperatures were pretty insane.

Edit: Could this be an issue with my PSU? Not providing sufficient power? I do have my CPU overclocked to 4.2 atm.

950mhz is a lot to ask. You really start to see diminishing returns when overclocking the graphics card. I would stop at around 900mhz or even 875mhz. Its just not worth the extra heat and noise imo.

Yeah just experimenting, seeing what works. I am really only going to overclock when some new games come out, like BF3.

Now, when I set everything back to default, and I run Heaven, some of the colors are are speckley and stuff. May have just F'd up my gpu.

Played a short session of Bad Company 2 and didn't notice anything strange except for some weird white lines on a part of a train.

Trying to keep it cool. I don't get how other people get such low temps on these cards...what am I doing wrong?
