what budget do u have if u what ~4 ghz on air then +1 for a hyper 212+ and i suggest u a 4+1 phase motherboard but i highly recommend u a 6+1 or higher phase mobo if u want the best out of ur cpu a 4+1 phase motherboard will oc to ~4 ghz but u need a aftermarket cooler and here in Mumbai the 212+ is for or around 1700 to 2000 bucks A corsair cx 430 v2 PSU will be perfectly fine. to be frank a 955 BE at ~4ghz will almost outperform a i3 2100

I'm sorry.. but what is with this 'phase' of the motherboard ? My budget for the mobo as I stated in the previous post would be around 3500 - 4000 INR or 85 US $.

If you have 40 tabs open i do not recommend under 3 GB (best to get 4 GB). I use 40-60 Chrome tabs and, along with Windows itself, and a couple more tray stuff i hit 2.4 GB RAM usage.

The only thing i do not recommend is a 4+1 phase mobo for OCing. That can barely handle the quad by itself. YOu might go a bit over budget, but i bet $20-40 more is preferable to a fried PC. This is one of the nicest and cheapest mobos i see on the Egg, and is only $10 over your mobo budget. You can OC really good on this. Plus you could even upgrade processor later, maybe even to an x6.

ASUS is a nice pick from mobos. Gigabyte and Asrock are as well. Just stay away from MSI and you'll be fine.

Isn't Bad Company optimized for a quad? I can run it at a constant 60 fps with my i3(full hd, dx11, high settings with a fair amount of AA and AF thrown in) while it was total torture with my E7200. If your talking about the old duals then yes they lose big time to the 955 but the SB duals are a different beast.

If your main concern is gaming plus you don't want the hassle of OC'ing then get the i3 2100.

it is optimized for quads, but even my i3 can run it just fine. As long as it can detect 4 threads it'll run good. Of course, with 4 true cores it'll run a bit better.

How exactly do I choose a mobo based on this 4+1 phase .. ? that is not mentioned in the specs alteast.. is this something to do with the 4/8 pin connector ?

Also, what are my mobo choices if im opting for the i3 ? (Choices in Intel / Asus for the above mentioned budget ?)

Lastly, i saw a suggestion above to get the 2500k.. are there better budget alternatives for the i3 2100 in my 130 US $ CPU budget ?

if u take a i5 25ook u have to buy a minimum p67 motherboard to overclock it with the multipliers unlocked as the h67 h61 i guess are cheap but don't support a much of oc features and u won't get a good p67 in $80 i guess atleast not here in India i guess
