I would take the i3 2100 as the socket will support better cpus for future upgrades. The power consumption is alot lower as well.

On an alternate note,
Considering that I would not be upgrading any time in the future, can i settle down with a 1st gen
i5 / i7 CPU on an 1156 socket motherboard ? Are these still available at cheaper rates ?

and i5 is for ~10k and a mob to unleash the beast costs a another ~8k to 9k

Okay.. So, I guess the best bet would be to settle down with the i3 for now & a good H 67 mobo.. that can be used for the i5/i7 about 2+ yrs down the line or even an ivy bridge 4+ yrs down the line !
That's future proof.. isn't it ?!

If so, can I get suggestions for 'good' h67 mobo's from either Intel /Asus please ppl? Condition of 4 DIMM & minimum 2 PCI's apply

Guess, i'm finally going back to the Intel family after about a decade with AMD !!

Isn't a P67 advisable if i would be upgrading to an i5/i7/ivy bridge a couple of yrs down the line ?
(Assuming that these cpu's are oc'able)
