We can each then play a different profile without having to each purchase a copy of the game or destroying another family members game stats. I don't like this single soldier idea at all.
I look at it the other way around. You now have nobody to blame but yourself if you get punkbusted. Sharing your PC games online is NEVER a good idea. I wouldn't even let Jesus Christ play on my Steam account, cause I don't trust him. (lol)

Can someone explain to me why you couldn't simply:

-create another Origin/EA account

-use your key to add the game to the new account

-launch the game with your new name

Surely that would work?

Furthermore, this should be in rumors shouldn't it?

The title from the article has a question mark on the end of it and the author is working off of assumption.

The question mark was for some reason left out of this threads title, but for someone skimming through the threads, it can be misleading and seen as official info.

No one here stated for a fact you have to use your Origin ID name. It was simply that way in the Alpha. Yet you had 2 names in the Alpha. Origin name and Soldier name. I doubt they would do that if they planned to force you to use the same for both. So I am sure you will get to pick your soldier name, and that is what people will see online.

How would that work? That is like giving the key to another person to use. If that was the case, you could have 1 person buy the game and give out the key for everyone to use for free.

Once a key is used it is tied to that account forever and not transferable.

Fine by me. I only made a new account to "work towards something". But since there'll be a ton of unlocks for BF3 along with many different combos to chose from, doesn't bother me.

Just use the authorization system EA already uses with the sims ("authorise/de-authorise this machine" etc).

I just tried it and it asks you to log onto the EA website to register your code with the new account.

So that's how it would (does) work?

EDIT: JUST TRIED TO COMPLETE THE PROCEDURE, DIDN'T WORK AS IT WAS ALREADY REGISTERED WITH ANOTHER ACCOUNT.

Maybe the game has to be removed from the previous account first?

I honestly dont care to try anymore. 1 soldier is enough for me.

Well BF3 forces Origin and that sucks.... owait, TF2 requires Steam.

Seriously though, not a problem, there was never any need for another character / soldier. It isn't an RPG where your class gets locked and that effects gameplay.

Though even if it did it would be fun [<3 Mass Effect series, Infiltrator, Biotic, Vanguard, try them all! ]

People don't like this because of Stats. Like to have a Soldier account to just mess around with (like learning to pilot) or shotguns and whatnot.

You under estimate the desire to have "pro" stats greatly.

Some people dont like others to know they actually sucked at the game in the beginning just like everyone else.
