TBH, I would rather have some official information on how the system works as opposed to getting bent up about an assumption.
No point debating something that may not exist imo.

If I wanted to get a good k/d without even trying I would just start a new account and go sniper in a hardcore server; ez k/d right there. BF is one of those games where k/d even matters less, the points you generate per second is way more important, shows you are a teamplayer which is way more valuable than some rambo
You'd be surprised.
When attempting to debate certain aspects of the game with certain people, they will attempt to kill your argument by quoting your K/D ratio.
Well tbh thats the only reason I could ever see why needing a new account to not "soil" your stats would be required, but even that's a lame reason imo.
Then again, there's always unranked servers.
Learn in unranked server.
Play in ranked servers when you get better.
Win the game?
Tbh though, stat protection in a game like Battlefield is the reason for some of the problems in BC2.
People often dont RUSH in RUSH because they care more about their ratio than they do about keeping the pressure on the enemy.
I dont think anything to do with "pro stats" has a place in Battlefield games tbh.
As a medic, I spend most of my time with a medic bag or defibs in my hands as I like to play an actual medic. Obviously my ratio will be lower. I dont get as many kills as other members, but I'm helping in a different way.
As a support gunner, I'm going to be just firing a whole load of rounds for suppression much of the time and not solely to kill. During those prolonged firing periods, I'll probably get taken down at some point. I wont get as many kills from heavy suppressing fire as I would from carefully placed rounds, but I'm still functioning as a vital part of the team and its strategy.
During RUSH modes, I may get killed more than others being the guy that actually makes the biggest effort to set the charges, but that ratio of 1/10 that round means nothing if my efforts actually won us the round.
That's why I think stats in these kinds of games should be for everything else but K/D ratio unless you literally just play the game to shoot at people (in which case, you're doing it wrong).Edited by GrizzleBoy - 8/13/11 at 1:05pm
