That's what to do for sure. One thing though don't blow off the stay/spacer thing. I worked in a shop for many years and guys would bring in their own builds they couldn't get working with similar stories.

In a lot of those circumstances I'd pull out the motherboard only to discover they used an extra stay location where the board didn't have a through-hole. The stay would then short out the board or it's a through-hole component who's leg is shorting to chassis ground.

Or a stray screw would fall out that was wedged between the board and it's tray... I dunno how many times I've seen that one... hundreds throughout the years...

ugg

PS or they would have screwy case front panel connector cables hooked up wrong. Like reset header and HD LED header shorted with the power LED cable or power switch header and reset header shorted with cable lead to power tactile switch.

PSS Sorry for my cynicism overclock.net and all the users... I'll tone it down for this point forward.

Fyi not all of us own little shops. People here are overclockers ranging in profession from students to engineers to doctors to even the guy who has a highschool education. We don't discriminate and we don't judge by amount of money someone has rather their amount of knowledge and how much they over reach with that knowledge.

as far as i see you think you know it all. Stop insulting people when you don't even know your stuff. Shop owners are dumb as he'll from my personal experience. You might not be bit stop acting like you know stuff when you don't.

Btw you going to explain how i am rolling about cup pll overvoltage? I am still waiting

First off, how about we stop bickering and help the OP.

As said so many times before, your psu is likely the cause. Even though you may put it on a tester and all is ok, you don't know if the circuit is intermittently faulty and spiking only once in a while.

Also, Check to ensure that you're not grounding out somewhere you're not.

For now, if you have the test equipment available, check each of the components individually, ie memtest the ram, etc. No worries on testing the cpu but I would check the video card since you're psu was supplying voltage directly.

GL

Lastly, I don't see anything at all odd or wrong with your hardware selection, these things do happen, focus on your issue and not the childish comments of children.

Ok, ignoring all the angry comments about you and your build, I would suggest not installing this inside your case and setting it up on your desk or on a cardboard box. Try using it without installing it in the case and see if it stays on. Also, the try a new PSU suggestion is a good idea as well.

Good idea, rebuild the whole PC again from scrath outside the case.
Maybe best to exchange the PSU before hand.
Try hitting the Mem-ok button on first boot.

HiroPro, give it up dude, your not making any constructive contributions.

I'm suspecting a short somewhere or the psu is shutting down. For the later, try jump-starting the psu and see if it shuts off on its own. Can you check to ensure the psu fan is spinning too? Good luck and let us know what you find.

I have tried that. The only problem is that the computer will not turn on at this point. All I get is a split second of power then it goes back to it's off state almost instantly. I'm going to replace my PSU before trying anything else with it, because I don't want to possibly damage more components.

It isn't a short anywhere unless it's caused by a hardware defect. I've looked at every inch of every component for some kind of loose metal or whatever causing a short. I'm going to go with what everyone in here is saying and replace my PSU. It should be here on Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'll see how it goes.

The only thing I could guess could cause a short is the plate that came with my H212+, but it has tape on it, and isn't actually touching anything other than the mobo which it's supposed to touch(and yes I've mounted it correctly).

I'm sorry, but I have to ask...you did remove the tape before mounting, right?

Please keep us posted when the new PSU arrives.
